This post is part of a new service development which facilitates and supports pre-school and primary school children who have communication and/or behavioural difficulties/development co-ordination difficulties and disabilites within the mainstream schools
Specific qualifications and experience required
RMN
experience of working with children for at least 2 years
driving license

I have 8 years experience of working in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Nursing, within this time I have completed a number of courses such as
- Postgraduate Certificate in Therapeutic Communication with Children at Travistock, England
- BSc Hons Nursing, Ba Mental Health Nursing
- RGN qualified 1996
- RMN qulaified 1999 1 year secondment
- Specialist Practitioner CMHN Graduate Diploma
Also many varied roles within CAMHS
- Inpatient and outpatient services tier 3 and 4 CAMHS CPN and charge nurse
- Surestart CPN band 6 postnatal-depression-children and families
- varied roles and responsiblities experience MDT and clinical cases

- Working with children and families in this age range P1-P4
- Providing education to teachers and team members, because this will have a positive impact on classroom behaviour therefore showing postive result of my work

Challenging aspects of the job/role
- time commitments difficult at times to coordinate care effectively because amount of people involved
- new service development – new role, new team, first area in my Trust to set up and provide service
- working client group experiencing trauma and aggressive behaviour and their families
Important success factors
- Experience of working in desired field, child and adolescent menatl health
- Educational development and continuing professional development
- Good quality clinical supervision in previous post in England and because of this biggest driver to develop career path and support journey, giving guidance and building on clinical experience
- Networking, gaining further knowledge of other work, new developments in CAMHS

- Need knowledge range of difficulties that will effect children in this age group and management and assessment of these
- Knowledge of education system although not essential to inform practice
